Wellness & Health- Reiki

Reiki is a form of therapy that was first discovered in Japan in the late 1800s. The therapy involves the transfer of energy from your practitioner's palms to your body.


Energy healing has been used for decades in different forms. Today hospitals offer Reiki services, and those who have used it attest it works for them.

All of us here at Blu Lunar Wellness are all certified Reiki Practioner Certified, to both practice/treat and certify others.



What is Reiki?

"Reiki" is a Japanese word that means "mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign." Rei(universal) and ki (life energy). The energy is expected to touch the energy fields in the body. And if you are wondering if your body has energy, it does.


Research has shown energy can stagnate at one point in the body. For this to happen, there has to be physical pain or even emotional pain for the energy to stagnate. The energy blocks are what lead to illness.


Practitioners, therefore, prescribe using acupuncture or acupressure to improve the flow of energy around your body. This helps your body to relax and reduce pain leading to a speedy recovery. At times the procedure helps to reduce symptoms.


How Reiki Works

Your Reiki session can be carried out anywhere you find comfortable. It could be done at a studio or distance.


During the session, you would be required to sit in a comfortable chair or lie on a table. Note you will be fully clothed, and there might be music playing in the background. Though, this depends on you and the practitioner.


Once the table or chair is set, and you are on it, the physician begins to place their hand's slightly over the targeted area. That could be your limb, head, or even torso. They will use different hand shapes, over the area for about 2 to 5 minutes. Note the hands can be placed on around twenty different areas of your body.


As the practioner holds their hands lightly over your body, the energy transfer begins to happen. As this happens, the practioner may notice their hands tingling and warm. The practitioner will hold the same position until they sense the energy transfer has happened, then they shift to another area of your body. A session can last for a period of 15 to 90 minutes.


Health Benefits

The session is there to encourage the body to heal on its own. Impacting the three aspects of your being, that is emotional, mental, and spiritual. The conditions which the session has helped with includes,, but not limited too:

  • Anxiety

  • Fatigue

  • Cancer

  • Depression

  • Chronic pain

In Summary

Reiki, can be a wonderful support therapy for other therapies you may be using.

I also see Reiki as a way to truly get to know your own energy, to recognise when you around someone that doesn't vibrationally match yours and how you can shift this energy when you come into contact with it.


I look at the womxn in my life, that have been told that they have to protect themselves, and when they do their strength is seen as too much. I see Reiki as the tool that can give womxn the opportunity to build the inner strength of their own energy so that they are no longer called to be actively think about protecting themselves and their energy, but they have built their energy up to the point that their energy speaks for it self, protects them in all ways possible, before and after coming into contact with others that may not want the best for them so that they can truly sit in their divine energy and power.


Energy work and healing benefits everyone, treatment, extends beyond just that session, but to all parts of your life.
